In June of 2018, just a few days after my 32nd birthday, I made a commitment that would change my life forever.
I had just stepped on that bathroom scale and was immediately devastated. I weighed 289.2lbs!
For most of my adult life, I’ve been on some type of weight loss journey.
I'd gone through different programs and diets through the years.
WW, Kimkins (old school version of Keto), Slim Fast, The Military Diet, The Cabbage Soup Diet, Calorie counting, Tracking macros, Restrictive meal plans, Repetitive meal plans.
I did them all.
And guess what?
They all worked...but not for long.
I always struggled with being 100 percent compliant with those eating plans because they were too restrictive for me.
I’d lose weight. Then “life happened” and I’d gain it back.
Once things settled down or a vacation was around the corner, I’d get back the motivation to lose weight again. Only to gain it back when life’s demands resurfaced.
When I got pregnant with my son, I put on some weight and then lost about 30 pounds almost immediately after giving birth. But it became harder and harder to lose the weight.
And then it was my 32nd birthday and a few days later I was standing on that scale. Realizing that I'd completely lost myself in my roles as wife and mother was the wake-up call I needed!
That day, I made a commitment to find myself again. I decided I wasn't going to stop until I looked and felt like the me I knew I could be!
That was also the day I started my weight loss journey FOR THE LAST TIME!
I have lost over 100lbs and kept it off for over 4 years.
